Ed Streeter Awarded South Carolina Artist Project Grant

Conway Glass artist, Ed Streeter is super excited to receive support from the South Carolina Arts Commission for his part in hosting FREE First Saturday Glassblowing Demos. Everyone is invited to Conway Glass on the First Saturday to learn about and see the mesmerizing craft of glass blowing. Visitors can watch as glass artists create colorful works of art right before their eyes. The demonstrations educate visitors about glass making, help to establish an appreciation for the craft and raise the awareness of how artists create quality handcrafted products.
Conway Glass welcomes over 250 visitors on First Saturday and space is limited. Register online to reserve a seat. Reservations are FREE.
October 5th from 11 am - 4 pm
November 2nd from 11 am - 4 pm
December 7th from 11 am - 4 pm.
Conway Glass is a hub for the arts and is a positive economic anchor for downtown Conway. The studios at Conway Glass are located within an active art and cultural cluster that includes the Horry County Museum, Horry County Library, Shine Cafe, Theatre of the Republic, Horry County Historical Society, Conway Glass and the offices of CREATE Conway, a non-profit arts organization. The area features numerous theatre performances, art shows, artist workshops, music events, and art classes for all ages.
The First Saturday Glass Blowing Demonstrations are funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which also receives support from the National Endowment of the Arts. The project is also funded in part by a generous award from John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina.
