Crafting Beauty with Care

Ensuring the safety and well-being of artists and workers in the stained glass community should be a top priority. The use of numerous materials and processes in stained glass work can pose health risks if appropriate precautions are not taken. It is imperative to establish a secure and healthy atmosphere for all individuals in the studio.

Materials like lead solder, flux, and chemicals used in stained glass making can emit hazardous fumes, particles, and dust into the air when heated or handled. Continuous exposure to these substances can result in respiratory issues, skin irritation, or long-term health problems.

Air Quality is Key

It is imperative to ensure appropriate ventilation systems within the studio to mitigate any potential hazards. Ventilation is crucial in removing and replacing air, guaranteeing a consistent supply of fresh air while eliminating any hazardous fumes or particles. Fume extractors can also help remove fumes. Adequate ventilation also helps to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels, creating a secure and comfortable working environment.

Read the Labels!

In a stained glass studio, it's crucial to abide by safety protocols and adopt good practices to ensure both personal safety and air quality. Read and follow the warnings on all products in your studio. Wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and masks while handling potentially dangerous materials is imperative. Furthermore, keeping work surfaces dust-free (wipe down with a damp cloth) and tools cleaned regularly is necessary to minimize the accumulation of hazardous substances.

Taking care of your health and safety is essential at your glass studio. But don't worry; we've got you covered! We believe in creating a positive and secure environment by ensuring proper ventilation, practicing good habits, and using safe products like D-Lead. Your well-being is our top priority so that you can focus on your craft without any worries.

Our Amazon Store provides our recommended products. We make a small commission on your purchase which does not affect your price but allows us to research new and innovative products for your stained glass studio. Thank you for supporting the ARTyRV Glass Studio as we build a worldwide stained glass community, doing our part to keep the art and craft of stained glass alive for future generations.
